A tea room in Broadway, the Cotswolds
10/6 Tea Room
Look for the hat. Outside the door stands a sign shaped like a green top hat, a peacock feather in its band and a little card tucked behind it that reads 10/6.
Why 10/6?
In Lewis Carroll’s Alice, the Hatter’s hat carries a price card: “In this style 10/6” — ten shillings and sixpence, in old money. The sign by the door wears the same card.
